For many people, Christmas this year will be unlike any other. The latest government restrictions due to Covid-19 have revealed that we will not be able to be with more than six people for Christmas, which means our usual big family gatherings and celebrations will not be possible. Understandably, this news is going to leave a lot of people feeling deflated and concerned about how they are going to enjoy the Christmas period.

Well, we have an idea for you! Why not hire a luxury campervan for your immediate family, and head off to a beautiful, festive location in the UK? You’ll get to experience stunning new sites and opportunities, while enjoying the comfort of one of our seven high-end campervans. Children will love the adventure, and getting away from the unusually empty home will allow you to fully enjoy the holidays. You never know, it could be your best Christmas yet, or even spark a new family tradition!

Below are just four examples of magical places you could visit over the Christmas break:

1. AVIEMORE, THE HIGHLANDS

Situated in the Scottish hills of Cairngorms National Park, this is the perfect location for a picturesque white Christmas. You will be nestled in amongst ancient forests, mountain trails, and historic castles overlooking Scottish lochs. The Highlands have been voted as one of the top 20 places to visit in the world by National Geographic, and with a chance to see the Northern Lights from the mountain tops, it’s no wonder why.

2. CORNWALL

Cornwall’s harbour-side villages are all beautifully decorated at Christmas time with festive lights and trees, perfect for wrapped-up strolls by the harbour. The largest area of lights is the Mousehole Harbour Lights, with over 7,000 bulbs decorating the village. The county is also home to the famous Eden project, which at Christmas time becomes a ‘Shadow of Light’, encompassing light sculptures throughout the dome, and a magical rainforest.

The county of Wiltshire offers an enormous amount of history and landmarks, which at Christmas time are even more breathtaking. Stroll round the Salisbury Cathedral and marvel at Stonehenge. There’s also plenty of countryside to hike through and explore. And the children will love Longleat’s Safari Park ‘Around the World’ Christmas theme, including a Chinese lantern light display.

4. OXFORDSHIRE

Similar to Wiltshire, Oxford is rich in history, and is a beautiful place to explore at Christmas. Wander round the historic Oxford university and follow the river Cherwell for a tranquil walk. Be sure to visit Bleinheim Palace, which has a stunning illuminated Christmas light trail.
